Leading Through Change

As we turned the page into 2025, I—like many of you—stepped into the new year with a mix of anticipation and an indescribable feeling of avoidance. Yes, how could I hold two opposing feelings at the same time? I'm remaining reflective!

The world remains VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous), and navigating it requires agility and intention.

Yet, Q1 was anything but idle for me. It was a time filled with work, deep and thoughtful conversations, and new beginnings. It also allowed me to reflect on my leadership, coaching and consulting practice, and self-care.

Two hands coming together as a high-five gesture

What Q1 Brought My Way

This first quarter, I had the opportunity to:

  • Navigate the complex terrain of DEI, addressing both spoken questions and unspoken landmines with care and some (emphasis on some) clarity. I'm still navigating, but I appreciate all the resources from my network and other leaders in this work.

  • Coach leaders, helping them align their purpose with their practice. I'm seeing more burnout and frustration about leading in this complex world than ever!

  • Partnered with a Wellness App to be one of their coaches! Indeed a win for me and an acknowledgment of the power of building your network.

  • Participate in a transformative two-day racial equity gathering, which left me energized and reflective.

  • Facilitated one of my favorite topics: systems thinking, where the leaders focused on connecting the dots between the systems we operate under and how the right questions can lead to impactful changes.

  • Redesign a workforce development program that equips organizations for the future of work.

  • Step into a new board role as Director of Communications for ICF North Texas. I'm working with individuals in the coaching field in a different capacity, learning so much about this community and myself!

  • Continue serving as a leader for my sorority’s alumnae chapter, deepening our sisterhood and service.

Every engagement reminded me why I do this work—and how important it is to stay focused and minimize distractions. The type of coaching I do and the type of thought leader I am require me to stay the course and challenge the systems I live and work under.

What's in store for me during Q2?

It's shaping up very nicely!

  • I'm on track to complete the final hours for my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential application.

  • I'll deliver IDI (Intercultural Development Inventory) debriefs with a mission-driven nonprofit—an exciting opportunity to build intercultural competence.

  • My community facilitation is scheduled and on the books! Stay tuned for more information.

  • I’ll continue my work on a long-term workforce development initiative, supporting future-ready teams.

And—I’m making space for new coaching partnerships.

If you're a leader or an organization looking to strengthen executive presence, lead through change, or build influence into your leadership strategy, let’s connect. My calendar is open for coaching conversations and collaborations.

Whether you're navigating your own VUCA environment or simply ready for what's next—I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s explore how we can partner to lead with purpose and impact.
